Canon PIXMA MG7510 Driver Download– The Canon Pixma MG7510 all-in-one offers a good range of features and print speeds that beat the competition in many of our tests. It also has an excellent interface, with a large 3.5-inch touchscreen display, NFC connectivity, an Ethernet jack, and the ability to print to optical discs. It’s also one of the few under $200 printers we’ve evaluated that comes with a special photo-black cartridge for better images. The Pixma MG7510 isn’t without its quirks, but overall it’s one of our favorite all-in-ones.
Design
With rounded corners and edges reminiscent of a small enclosed football stadium, the Canon Pixma MG7510 won’t take up much table real estate. This printer weighs 17.4 pounds and measures 17.2 x 14.6 x 5.9 inches, which is more compact than the Epson Expression Premium XP-820 (19.1 x 10.4 x 16.8, 21 pounds) but slightly heavier than the HP Envy 7640 (16.1 x 17.9). X 7.6 inches, 16.9 pounds).
When powered on, the device has a dynamic touch LCD screen and soft-touch keys. There are two small paper trays on the front of the printer, one for photos. However, trays don’t hold too much paper and require frequent refills, a big problem for business users.
Set up
After we turned it on for the first time, the Canon Pixma M G7520 took 8 minutes 51 seconds to fill its cartridge and prepare to print for the first time. This year, it was the slowest in our printer tests and just behind the 8:08 Epson XP-820 time. These printers have an extra photo-black cartridge, so we’re guessing it’s time to prepare some extra ink.
Be careful when applying the ink, or you may create a mess. When we removed the tape on the cyan cartridges on the MG7510 and MG5620, some of the ink came out and hit our hands.
Even though the MG7510 has a large, bright screen, we had to press harder on this printer to choose than on any other device. After setting up the printer and configuring Wi-Fi connectivity, the Canon screen says, “For product development and marketing that better meets customer needs, Canon requests that information related to your Canon product be sent to Canon via the Internet.
Software
The Canon Pixma MG7620 comes with a nice set of software packages, including the My Printer app for checking device status, My Image Garden for organizing photos, and Easy-PhotoPrint Ex, which lets you create calendars, albums, CD labels, and other items.
Print Speed
The Canon Pixma MG7510 is one of the fastest performers we’ve tested, leading the pack in print speeds of black-and-white text and color photos. The MG7510 completed a page of black-and-white text on the Normal setting in 10 seconds, which is 3 seconds faster than the category average. The Brother MFC-J5620 gets the job done the same amount of time, while the HP Envy 7640 and Epson XP-820 are slightly slower.
Print quality
The print quality of the Canon Pixma MG7510 is second only to the Epson XP-820, which produces the highest quality images of all the under $200 all-in-one printers we tested. The differences are subtle between the two printers, with the XP-820 offering better saturation and slightly sharper detail, especially in our portrait test.
When we print a landscape photo from a flower stand in front of a farm, the Canon Pixma output is vivid and full of detail. It is even possible to see the grain on the standing wood and the fence posts behind it. The floral edges are sharply defined, and the saturation impressive, with realistic rich yellows, dark reds, and greens. It’s hard to tell the difference between this photo and the photo we printed with the XP-820.
Ink Cost and Yield
While many high-end printers include a dedicated photo black cartridge for better photo results, the Canon Pixma MG7510 tries to increase the competition by adding a sixth cartridge only for grayscale. While the photo quality was excellent in our tests, we’re not sure the special grays helped as the 5-cartridge Epson XP-820 offered slightly better images. Despite the extra cartridges, the cost of ink per page is still very low.
With the high-yield cartridge, the MG7510 can print approximately 4,400 black pages, 500 black photo pages, and approximately 660 color pages — a very high capacity. Currently, the black XL cartridge retails for $23, making it half a penny per black and white (no gray) page.
The main thing is
There’s a lot to like about the Canon Pixma MG7510: excellent photo quality, fast print times, and low cost per page. For the same price, the Epson Premium Expression XP-820 provides slightly better photo quality, SD Card slot, document feeder, and fax capabilities but at a higher cost of black ink. If you’re looking for a fast and affordable all-in-one with stunning output, the Canon Pixma MG7510 is a great choice.
