Canon i-SENSYS MF6180dw Driver Download– Designed and built for the office environment of medium and large-sized, i-SENSYS MF6180DW is a comprehensive mono multifunction printer capable of completing various tasks to a professional standard. Although a large array of functions and features – printers have achieved Energy Efficiency BLI Outstanding Achievement award for 2015, which shows the environmentally friendly design.
The great control panel and one-touch operation of i-SENSYS MF6180DW make it very simple for users to access the printer’s various functions. With a clear LCD, this printer is very simple to use.
Capable of connecting to computers and devices via WiFi and also through Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print, all office members can intuitively connect to a printer from their main computer or device. Simplify the process of accessing the various functions of the printer. A lot more work team members can simultaneously connect to the machine.
The printer can offer exceptional print speeds with the capacity to print up to 33ppm in black and white. Perfect for the office with a heavy reliance on printed output area and the creation of large volumes of documents – the printer has a maximum capacity of 800 sheets, allowing for continuous use.
Features & Connectivity
You get a great selection of features with this printer, one of the many reasons it’s perfect for the demanding office:
- Wireless & Ethernet
- Compatible with AirPrintatic 2-sided printing (duplex)
- Scanocument Feeder ( ADF )
- 250-sheet paper tray + optional 500-page tray
- 50 sheet multipurpose tray – Control panel
full width – USB front facing
Connectivity options are diverse with every option you need, be it wireless, ethernet, or USB connection for a single PC. Setup is as simple as whichever method you choose, and you’ll be ready to print after a few minutes of initializing from the printer.
One very good feature is how the duplex is integrated for this printer. It works with other functions, such as scanning and copying, so all your prints can be 2-sided and much more environmentally friendly.
The ADF also allows scanning multiple pages, so combining it with duplex means replicating large two-sided documents is a breeze. There’s also a front-facing USB so you can scan or print from any device you plug it in.
The control panel opens access to all printer features, and Canon keeps it simple with clear buttons and directional arrows to navigate. On the left are 19 large speed dial options (7 on top, 12 on the bottom panel), and on the right are shortcut keys for scanning directly to a predefined PC.
The only downside is the large ‘standby’ button. Usually, when the printer is ‘sleeping,’ you can wake it up by pressing any key, but not so with this Canon. If you don’t press that big green button, you’ll find the MF6180dw in its slumber.
Print Speed & Quality
First-page speed, measuring the time it takes for you to send a print request to the first page that is being completed, is extremely fast for a laser printer of this size, which lends itself to faster overall print speeds because you’re not sitting around waiting for it to heat up.
Short prints (under ten pages) came out at 19 pages per minute (ppm), and larger prints increased to 26ppm. Even more impressive is that duplex barely slows this down, getting more than 14 pages per minute on large two-sided print jobs. It’s as fast as any other similarly priced machine you’ll find and is a plus point.
Excellent print quality for standard documents but a little lacking when trying to print graphics. Text is sharp and legible no matter the text, and there are no grainy or obvious font edges, always looking nice and smooth with a consistent black color.
The graphics still look good and would be suitable for a presentation paper, but some of the grays are hard to distinguish in certain charts and graphs, a similar problem you see in some mono laser printers. Print quality should be more than good enough if colors can be clearly distinguished before being converted to grayscale.
Cartridges & Operating Costs
The Canon MF6180dw has one consumable cartridge containing toner and a drum to keep things nice and simple. It conveniently comes in two capacities, standard (2,100 pages) and high capacity (6,400 pages), so if you have a quiet period, you don’t have to pay for the larger cartridge.
Installation is simple. Just pull down the hatch on the front of the printer to find the cartridges happily sitting, remove the empty cartridges and insert the replacement.
After a few times, the cartridge replacement will take less than a minute. The control panel gives clear messages about how much life remains in cartridges and when they need to be replaced so you don’t get caught.
Operating costs are very competitive for standard capacity cartridges, approaching 2.2 pence per page. Opting for the higher capacity version almost halved it to 1.2 pence per page, a very impressive figure that is much cheaper than many machines and on par with the top-recommended high-duty printers.
