Canon MAXIFY MB5020 Driver Download– The Canon MAXIFY MB2050 is a large printer with a 50-sheet ADF mounted on the lid of its flatbed scanner. Inside the lid is the control panel, which offers a 62mm LCD screen and a number pad for fax calls and other control buttons.

It’s not a touchscreen, but with three soft keys under the panel and a four-way navigation pad, it’s easy to work with the comprehensive menu system. Print Speed

Canon rates the MAXIFY MB2050 at a healthy 16ppm for mono and 11ppm for color. In our tests, the mono print speed varied between 12.5ppm on a five-page document and 13.5ppm on a 20-page document. Not up to the mark, but still a good speed for an inkjet, not bad for a mono laser, and great for any color laser under £300.

It also manages printing at nine sides per minute in duplex mode, thanks to which virtually no drying time is required between sides. It’s fast for any inkjet under £100.

For color speed, we measured 6ppm – a little more than half the specified speed, but still a reasonable output. The copy took 18 seconds for color pages from the flatbed and a fast 28 seconds for five mono pages from the ADF.

Printing a 15 x 10cm photo takes between 46 and 52 seconds, though none are borderless; the printer cannot print full-bleed. Although this machine is intended for small business and home use, it is a shame that it cannot print to the edges of the paper, as it can reproduce photo images well.

Print Quality and Cost

The print quality is very good. Black text approximates laser output in black density and character edge sharpness, and the color fill is also dense and smooth. The color copy is very similar to the original in color matching, although there is some loss of sharpness in the text.

To the naked eye, photo prints are just as good as Canon’s dedicated photo printer, and it’s only when you look closely that you notice a slight drop in the reproduction of darker colors.

Using the cheapest Canon XL cartridge we could find on the internet, the page cost was 1.7p for mono prints and 3.7p for color. This is an incredible number for a color inkjet at this price, and with the relatively high capacity, the cartridges don’t need to be replaced regularly.

Other small offices and home-office all-in-ones are available at this price, such as the Brother MFC-J470DW and HP Officejet Pro 6830. The Brother machines are slower, have higher operating costs, and higher operating costs smaller LCD panels. HP printers are close competitors, with comparable speed and good output quality, but they are more expensive to run and noisy when feeding paper.
