Canon Selphy CP1300 Driver Download– The Canon SELPHY 1300 does short work of creating 6×4-inch postcard-sized prints of excellent quality, so you can easily place them where you can view them or share them with family and friends. It’s a small, versatile printer that’s fairly inexpensive to buy and relatively inexpensive to run, with decent speed changes.
Available in black, white, or pink, the Canon SELPHY CP1300 is a portable photo printer that produces prints up to 6×4 inches in size and is based on dye-sublimation technology. Unlike Canon’s smaller SELPHY Square QX10 printer, which has only one operation button, the CP1300 is more practical.
A full range of onboard control buttons and a tilting 3.2-inch color LCD to maximize standalone printing. Indeed, while the QX10 only has Wi-Fi Direct connectivity and is meant to be used only through Canon’s SELPHY Photo Layout app, the CP1300 adds a USB port, PictBridge, and an SD/HC/XC card slot.
Therefore, it can be connected wirelessly or via USB to a digital camera and computer, or you can insert a memory card containing still images into the printer. It is also compatible with Apple AirPrint and Mopria for cloud-based printing. The CP1300 matches the QX10 due to its lack of Bluetooth connectivity.

Canon Selphy CP1300 Feature
No messy ink, thanks to the CP1300 featuring dye-sublimation or ‘dye-sub’ technology, which is quite common in portable photo printers. Because of this, he used special photo paper and cassettes containing dye-coated tape. In general, the paper automatically passes through the printer four times. On his first three trips, layers of cyan, magenta, and yellow dye were added, followed by a final protective coat.
The print resolution of 300dpi may look a little shabby compared to inkjet printers, but, most importantly, each dot is created by adding different layers of dye on top of each other. With inkjet printers, each dot is created by placing drops of ink close to each other on the page. Therefore a higher print resolution is required.
While Canon’s smaller SELPHY Square QX10 produces just a 2.7-inch square print, the CP1300 produces a postcard-sized 4×6-inch print. In addition to being much larger, prints have the correct aspect ratio for most digital cameras. However, if the QX10 has an internal paper input tray, the CP1300 has a ‘PCC-CP400 Card Size Paper Cassette’ clip, which acts as an input and output tray and increases the overall size of the printer while you are printing.
The CP1300 runs on electrical power, and while you can purchase the optional Canon NB-CP2LH rechargeable Battery Pack, it costs quite a bit at around £48/$87. The battery has good stamina on the plus side, allowing for 546×4-inch prints from a full charge.
The CP1300 is relatively inexpensive to operate, based on the KP-1081N media package containing several sub-dye cartridges and 108 sheets of paper. The paper has a perforated side strip, so you can easily remove it to make borderless photo prints.
While it produces a significantly larger 4×6-inch print than the QX10’s 2.7-inch square print, operating costs come in at around 25p/29c per print, which is very good compared to the QX10’s 80p/75c per print. The CP1300 took a little longer to make larger prints, too, at 47 seconds compared to 43 seconds on the QX10.
Print quality is equally good for both printers. The CP1300 delivers rich, vibrant color rendition and a good tonal range that retains detail in everything from deep low light to bright highlights. Longevity is rated at 100 years, so fading shouldn’t be a problem.
Canon Selphy CP1300 Decision
The Canon SELPHY CP1300 is not a ‘pocket printer,’ having quite thick dimensions and weighing almost a kilogram. However, it’s still very portable and packed with useful features for standalone printing over Wi-Fi or cameras, computers, cell phones, and other gadgets. It’s much more versatile than Canon’s SELPHY Square QX10 printer, making it a better value at a price and much cheaper to run.
