Canon PIXMA IP90 Driver Download
Weighing 4.4 pounds with its AC adapter and measuring 2.0 by 12.2 by 6.9 inches (HWD), the iP90 is bigger and heavier than some notebooks. But it does not compromise on speed, quality, and most features. The iP90 can be connected via USB, IrDA (infrared) or Bluetooth option and can print from your computer, PDA, cell phone or camera with PictBridge. An optional car adapter and a rechargeable battery let you print anywhere.
The only commitments are in paper handling and ink capacity. The top cover opens to serve as an input tray 30 pages. No output tray, and the manual warns you each printed page move out of the way to avoid interference as follows. The ink cartridges are relatively small, with a claimed 100 pages per color cartridge and 185 pages of text. Claimed cost per page is 3 cents to 12 cents for monochrome and color.
In our business applications suite (programmed with the hardware and software QualityLogic, the iP90 scored a total of 25 minutes 14 seconds. That is slow compared to the fastest desktop ink jets, like the Canon iP4000, but it being a reasonable speed. The Epson C86 (total -size desktop printer), for example, just a little faster, at 23:10. Photo speed is also surprisingly good, averaging 2:10 for each photo 4 x 6 and 4:52 for each 8 by 10.
Output quality is another advantage. Text and graphics were both at the upper end of the good. Most fonts were easily readable at 4 points, with some stylized fonts required as large as 12 points. Graphs showed a variety of minor problems, but no serious flaws. Photos scored a very good rating, mainly held by a shade lighter monochrome photos and posterization.
This level of speed and quality would be perfectly acceptable in an inkjet desktop. And that is probably the best recommendation that exists for a portable printer.
